Mr. Dunphy was a lifelong resident of Hampton Circle, and was named 2022 Hampton Circle Ambassador. He was a hockey-playing 1963 graduate of Archbishop Williams High School. He joined the Seabees and served in the Da Nang area of Vietnam. He followed his father and became an electrician for Cleverly and Dunphy. Mr. Dunphy loved his career and never “worked” a day in his life.
Later, billed as “George & Martha,” the duo performed at many nursing homes on the South Shore. In later years Mr. Bregoli performed solo at the Braintree Highlands Housing Authority and the Hull Senior Center. Edmund G. Bregoli of Braintree, formerly of Marshfield and Hull, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on Dec. 7, 2022, at age 96. The Massachusetts Humane Society placed one of its first Huts of Refuge on Nantasket Beach after the American Revolution. Hull has seven distinct hills and these seven hills are what make the peninsula's topography quite unique. I was a bit worried because the cremation services price at Heritage Cremation was so much less than the other cremation services I was quoted, but I have to say the cremation service was beautiful. Born in Boston on June 14, 1949, she was the daughter of the late James and Patricia Walsh. Mrs. Greene was raised in Dorchester, attended local schools, and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in Roxbury. In addition to raising her family and caring for her grandchildren, she enjoyed working retail sales for Talbots.
She loved her work and the relationships she built throughout the years. Visiting hours and a funeral Mass were held on Thursday, Dec. 15. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Johnson may be made to a charity of your choice to help someone during the holidays. Mr. Richardson was a hard worker who volunteered throughout the community. He served as president of Hull Youth Hockey, was a founding member of the Hull Scholarship Fund, and a dedicated member of the Hull Boosters Club. Although he took great pride in being so involved in Hull, he was proudest of his family.
COMFORTABLE, COMPASSIONATE, AND CREATIVE SERVICES
In the ’50s, Mr. Weddle had an idyllic childhood, summering at family camps in the White Mountains, playing sandlot baseball, and ice skating at the neighborhood pond. He was the perfect cub/boy scout, a noble school patrol leader, and a rising Little League star. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill in Canton, and were followed by a brief graveside ceremony at Moses Mendelsohn Memorial Park in Randolph. Mary L. Greene, of Hull, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully at the Residence of Penniman Hill in Hingham, with her husband by her side on Nov. 4, 2022, after a long battle with dementia.
Charlotte’s legacy will endure through her family, and she will long be remembered. Mrs. Katz was born in Boston, raised in Dorchester and Nantasket, and became a long-term resident of Quincy. Her parents felt strongly that all of their children should value education and this is something Mrs. Katz took to heart for herself and her children. She attended Girls Latin School in Boston and graduated with high honors with a triple major from Tufts University. Her professional career included fashion modeling, teaching elementary school, and serving as a probation officer in the Quincy District Court.
During the ’70s, after being honorably discharged from the Army as a conscientious objector and having taken a vow of poverty at a local monastery, Mr. Weddle relocated to Cambridge. It was here where he continued to advocate for the peace movement, working closely with Vietnam Vets Against the War and the Legal In-Service Project. Later, he went on to manage rock-n-roll bands and was a regular at the Rathskeller in Boston. If it weren’t for Mr. Weddle later becoming a ’60s flower child and an A+ student of counterculture, he truly believed he would have played professional baseball. Instead, this free spirit traveled the country and got himself into lots of good trouble. Drafted into the Army the same week as Woodstock, Mr. Weddle always said he “lived his life as revenge for being deprived the opportunity” to attend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Marney, his four brothers – Bob, Richie, Jimmy, and Billy – and his children’s mother, Elaine “Lainzo” Greenleaf.
